Here’s a poem by Autumn Hayes, who is a Blue Dragon Tai Chi Instructor that was recently published along with some information on how poetry and Tai Chi are intertwined:
In the context of Chinese philosophy, poetry and “wu wei” (translated as “non-action” or “effortless action”) are deeply intertwined, as poetry often seeks to capture the essence of natural flow and harmony, mirroring the concept of aligning oneself with the rhythms of the universe without forceful intervention, much like the idea of “wu wei” in Taoism; poets strive to express experiences and emotions through language that feels spontaneous and authentic, rather than overly contrived, reflecting the core principle of “wu wei” to act in alignment with the natural order.
At Blue Dragon Tai Chi, we support, honor and encourage all of our student’s and instructor’s gifts and talents to blossom naturally. If you’re looking for inspiration that helps you connect to your own creativity, join our free Tai Chi In The Park class Levy Park Houston every Thursday at 6pm.
